How mRNA Vaccines Work - Simply Explained

  • mRNA vaccines have to potential to end the COVID19 pandemic. How do they work? Are they safe? And how could they've been developed so quickly?
The main idea of mRNA vaccines is to trick our bodies to produce part of a virus. This kickstarts our immune response, without getting us sick. All that's needed is a part of the virus's DNA or RNA, packaged into mRNA. Cool!
(mRNA is the technology behind the vaccines from Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna & CureVac)

We need to keep things in perspective. About 54 million covid vaccine doses have been given worldwide. We would all hope that no one experiences any side effects from the vaccine. I suggest the incidence of serious side effects is rare! It is very easy to highlight cases and blow things totally out of proportion. Which is greater: Getting a severe side effect or getting covid (which has known long-term side effects) and passing it on to others? What is your solution to getting out of the pandemic?

It's symptoms, but not full blown sickness (most times). Your body is producing active virus DNA, so when your cells replicate it, you might experience symptoms of the virus before your body can shut it down. And by the next day, you're usually a-okay again.

Except he didn't mention the following:
      1. The purpose of the research Dr. Fauci funded was to engineer the spike protein to be EXTREMELY toxic. So the spike protein our bodies manufacture are just as toxic as the spike protein on the virus, and they are causing major problems.
      2. It's the spike protein that is mutating to create the new variants, which is why these vaxes don't provide lasting immunity ---- after the spike protein mutates, our immune system no longer recognizes the spike virus. Which is why dead antigen vaccines are so superior --- because we develop immune recognition to all 32 viral proteins, so when the spike protein mutates we can still recognize the rest of the virus.

1.) So if your cells are constantly creating the Spikes from the virus, and your immune system is constantly destroying the spikes, does that mean that your immune system is constantly in fight response?
2.) So if eventually your immune system destroys the Spike RNA in your cell, does that mean your immune system attacks your cells to get to the Spike RNA? How does your immune system destroy the spike RNA in your cell l if it is encoded into your cell?

      1) Once your B cells have the memory of the spike and the mRNA they quickly isolate and destroy the afflicted cells and remove the alien material.

The "immune system" is much more than just the Immune Response. You are describing the Immune Response - please be specific. The Immune Response is responsible for creating antibodies. You state that the immune system needs a few days to figure out how to launch an attack - it is the specific immune response (B-Cells that create the antibodies) that needs those days. Prior to that we have a variety of cells that are defending the body from the invading virus - these include macrophages and T-Cells and a variety of other immune cells. Other broad defenses that we have include our intact skin, mucus in our respiratory system, acids in our digestive system - all of these work together to defend the body and are all part of the Immune System. It is much more complex than you describe.
To be clear, our immune system is working right away to deal with a virus, the specific immune response that produces the antibodies is an arm of the overall immune system that produces specific antibodies. Our bodies have been successfully defending against bacterial and viral invasion for thousands of years using a variety of defenses that you have not included in this video.
Traditional vaccines use a variety of antigens (viral particles) not just partially killed viruses as you say in your video. Many vaccines use chopped up dead viral particles - these dead particles would not be able to infect a cell. This is an incorrect statement based on incorrectly identifying "traditional vaccines" as being made of partially dead, and therefore partially alive viral material. You imply that partially dead viral material in traditional vaccines could cause an infection and that the mRNA vaccine, therefore, is safe because it does not do that. Your comparison is not correct as you do not fully describe the varieties of traditional vaccines. The comparison is not even relevant to the discussion of the safety of the mRNA vaccine.
This type of over-simplification of health and disease might make a person "feel better" but due its lack of accuracy and respect for the intricacies of human function, it falls short of offering information that is useful to the discussion of health.

How can your cell produce just the spikes like there’s just the spikes floating around? Doesn’t make sense

Your cells only produce the spikes because that is all the mRNA is a template for. Although this video mistakenly made this unclear, the spikes never leave your cells once created. They are broken down and shown to passing immune cells to imitate the antibody generation process.
